What is a giclée print?

"The word "giclée" is derived from the French word "le gicleur" meaning "nozzle", and  "gicler" meaning "to squirt, spurt, or spray".

The term  "giclée print" describes an advance in printmaking technology. Giclée prints are generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks onto various substrates like canvas, water-color paper etc. The giclée printing process provides the finest color accuracy that is possible in printmaking.

The quality of the giclée printing is of the highest order and surpasses previous printmaking methods. Giclée prints are commonly found in museums and galleries.
